Influence of Cantilever on Stress Distribuition in Bone around Dental Implants: a Three-dimensional Finite Element Analysis
نویسنده
چکیده
The use of 3D model to simulation dentistry problems with finite element method has been reported. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the stress distribution in the cortical bone under different shape of dental implants in cantilever loading. The models were constructed with commercial conical and cylindrical implants of 4.3 mm diameter and 11mm length using ANSYS program. All materials used in the models were considered to be isotropic, homogeneous and lineary elastic. The elastic properties, the loads and constraints used were taken from the literature. The highest values of stress are found when the cylindrical implant was used. Therefore, the results indicate that the use of conical implant in patients with cantilever structure is more indicated if compared with the cylindrical implant.

Effect of Abutment Angulation and Material on Stress and Strain Distributions in Premaxillary Bone: A Three-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis
Background and Aim: Dental implants with angled abutments are often inserted in the anterior maxillary region due to the status of the residual ridge and aesthetic considerations. The purpose of this study was to assess stress and strain distributions in the premaxillary bone around dental implants by means of finite element analysis (FEA). Materials and Methods: Four three-dimensional (3D) fi...

متن کاملEffect of Abutment Height Difference on Stress Distribution in Mandibular Overdentures: A Three-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis
Background and Aim: Implant-supported overdentures are a treatment option for edentulous patients. One of the important factors in determining the prognosis of overdenture treatment is to control the distribution of stress in the implant-bone and attachment complex. This study assessed the effect of implant abutment height difference on stress distribution in mandibular overdentures. Materials...

Statement of Problem: In the treatment of edentulous patients with implant supported fixed partial dentures several factors such as implant numbers, implant position, superstructure pattern and cantilever length must be considered. Mandibular flexture in function exerts forces in peri-implant bone, however this phenomenon has received little attention. Purpose: The goal of this finite element a...
متن کاملInfluence of restoration type on stress distribution in bone around implants: a three-dimensional finite element analysis.
The three-dimensional finite element analysis method was used to assess stress in bone around titanium implants using three treatment designs for a partially edentulous mandible, under axial (AX), buccolingual (BL), or mesiodistal (MD) loads. For each of these loads, highest stress was calculated in the model with a cantilever prosthesis supported by two implants (M2). Less stress was found in ...
